Our Mid-Life Crisis - The Swimming Pool - Part 1

Everyone has a Mid-Life Crisis! Where they make that crazy purchase? Instead of going the Shiny Red BMW, we decided to build a backyard escape! We are building a Swimming Pool!

We contracted with Maryland Pools (www.mdpools.com) back in October and finally, this past Friday (January 12, 2007), we broke ground! And they are making a mess!!!! Here are some pictures.

Poor Phoebe! As you can tell below, she just don't know what to think!


Anyway, they had to stop because of ROCK! So, they'll be back on Monday to take care of the Rocks. Unfortunately, they are calling 80% chance of rain! So, it'll probably be Tuesday.

They did make it on the following Monday. And brought the rock breaking machine (see how techie I am!).


I won't bore you with all of the breaking and hauling rocks.... But, here's the finished product at the end of the day.


Then, they worked feverishly on Tuesday & Wednesday to put the plumbling and steel stuff in!



And the big day, Friday, January 19 - the cement was poured and the shell was formed!





Well, next on the list is for the Electrician to come out to work his magic. But, that may not be until Mid-to-Late February. So, come on back for more update later!
